Deadly Customs DC1 Plate Carrier
The Deadly Customs DC1 Plate Carrier is a fully modular, purpose-built carrier designed entirely in-house by Deadly Customs. Built for modern operational environments, the DC1 Plate Carrier focuses on adaptability, cable management, durability, and user customisation.
Constructed from B52 laminate and 1500D Cordura, the DC1 incorporates laser-cut MOLLE throughout, Duraflex hardware, internal cable routing, adjustable placard mounting, and a fully modular cummerbund system.
Every element of the carrier has been engineered to give the end user maximum flexibility — whether running a slick low-profile configuration or a fully loaded operational setup.

Designed In-House
The Deadly Customs DC1 Plate Carrier has been completely designed and developed in-house by Deadly Customs.
Rather than adapting generic designs or outsourced templates, the DC1 has been built from the ground up with modern operational requirements in mind.
From integrated cable management to a modular hardware architecture, the carrier is designed to support the evolving needs of military personnel, law enforcement professionals, and users who rely on adaptable load-bearing equipment.
Modular by Design
Modularity is at the core of the DC1 platform.
Many plate carriers permanently sew key structural components in place, limiting future upgrades or repairs. The DC1 instead uses bolt-mounted structural components, allowing key elements of the carrier to be removed or replaced if future upgrades become available.
The shoulder strap attachment points are bolted into the carrier, reinforced with CURV structural layers and riveted construction to provide exceptional durability.
This design allows shoulder components to be swapped or upgraded without replacing the entire carrier.
All mounting bolts are secured with blue Loctite before leaving our workshop to ensure reliability during use.
If users wish to change components later, the bolts can be accessed by turning the carrier inside out and breaking the Loctite using appropriate tools.
Shoulder Strap System
The DC1 features a Velcro sandwich shoulder strap design, allowing the user to easily adjust the carrier height for proper plate positioning.
Adjustment is simple:
-
Separate the Velcro layers
-
Adjust strap length
-
Re-secure the Velcro
This system allows fine tuning of the carrier’s fit while maintaining a secure attachment.
The carrier includes shoulder pads as standard, designed to help distribute weight across the shoulders during extended wear.
The pads are secured using an integrated Velcro locating strip on the underside of the strap, preventing them from sliding during movement.
The shoulder straps also feature a single strip of laser-cut MOLLE, which can be used for:
-
Cable routing
-
Attachment of accessories
-
Additional cable retention
Optional Quick Detach Shoulder
At checkout, the DC1 can be configured with:
-
Left shoulder quick detach
-
Right shoulder quick detach
-
No quick detach
This allows the end user to choose the configuration that best suits their setup.
All quick detach hardware uses Duraflex Tubes, allowing the carrier to be quickly donned or removed when required.
Integrated Cable Management
Modern operational environments require increasing amounts of communication equipment and electronic integration.
Many carriers rely on external cable sleeves which can introduce snag hazards.
The DC1 addresses this through integrated internal cable routing.
Each side of the front plate bag features three cable pass-through points, allowing cables to be routed internally and up through the shoulder straps.
This keeps cables protected and prevents snag points while maintaining a clean, low-profile exterior.
Placard Compatibility & Adjustment
The DC1 is compatible with a wide range of placard systems.
The front plate bag includes Duraflex placard buckles, available in black or tan to match the carrier colourway.
These buckles are mounted using a One-Wrap attachment system, allowing them to be removed if alternative placard mounting solutions are preferred.
The outer MOLLE columns also allow the buckles to be adjusted vertically, allowing users to fine-tune placard height.
Above and below the main placard mounting area are Velcro-backed MOLLE panels, which can be used for:
-
Additional pouch mounting
-
Cable routing
-
Traditional MOLLE attachments
Internal Cummerbund System
The Deadly Customs DC1 Plate Carrier uses a fully internal cummerbund attachment system, allowing the cummerbund to pass through the rear plate bag and remain hidden inside the carrier.
This design provides several advantages:
-
The rear plate bag remains completely slick
-
The full rear MOLLE field remains usable
-
No external bulk from cummerbund mounting
The internal mounting pocket is Velcro lined, allowing the cummerbund to sit flat and secure.
This system also allows approximately 10 cm of adjustment per side, providing significant sizing flexibility.
Dual-Sided Laser Cut Cummerbund
The DC1 cummerbund features laser-cut MOLLE on both the inside and outside surfaces, allowing pouches to be mounted internally or externally.
This is particularly useful when using side armour plate bags.
Side plate bags can be mounted on the inside of the cummerbund while leaving the outside MOLLE free for equipment such as:
-
Radios
-
Magazine pouches
-
Medical kits
-
Tourniquets
-
Utility pouches
Internally, the cummerbund includes a CURV structural reinforcement layer, which provides rigidity and improves load-bearing performance.
The standard cummerbund also incorporates a 10 cm section of double-layer Mil-Spec elastic, allowing flexibility while maintaining structural stability.
Comfort & Heat Management
Inside the plate bags, the DC1 features Mil-Spec mesh ventilation panels, allowing heat to escape during extended wear.
This helps reduce heat build-up between the carrier and the body, improving comfort during prolonged use.
Plate Compatibility
The DC1 Plate Carrier is designed to accept SAPI-style ballistic plates, one of the most commonly used plate shapes in professional environments.
Materials & Construction
The DC1 is constructed using high-quality materials designed for durability and operational reliability.
Primary materials include:
-
B52 laminate
-
1500D Cordura
-
Mil-Spec Velcro

Sizing Guide
Selecting the correct plate carrier size is important for proper plate positioning and comfort.
The Deadly Customs DC1 Plate Carrier is available in three sizes:
Small
36″ – 40″ Chest
Medium
40″ – 44″ Chest
Large
44″ – 48″ Chest
The internal cummerbund system allows approximately 10 cm of adjustment per side, allowing the carrier to accommodate layering, armour plates, and additional equipment.
For best results, measure your chest around the widest point while wearing the clothing layers you would typically wear beneath the carrier.
If you fall between sizes, selecting the larger size generally provides greater adjustment range.
