Materials & Construction
The Deadly Customs Utility Back Panel is constructed using genuine 500D Cordura® fabric, providing an ideal balance between durability and weight.
High-stress areas incorporate laminate reinforcement, increasing structural strength while maintaining a streamlined profile.
The panel features genuine YKK zippers and chain, widely regarded as the industry standard for reliability in demanding environments. Each zip is fitted with Deadly Customs glove-friendly pull tabs, allowing easy operation even when wearing gloves or operating in adverse conditions.
Every panel is manufactured in the United Kingdom by Deadly Customs using a combination of premium American-sourced materials and precise construction methods.
Exterior Features
The outward-facing side of the panel incorporates a four-column laser-cut MOLLE field, allowing the attachment of additional pouches or accessories if required.
Above this sits a large Velcro loop panel, providing space for identification patches, unit markings, or morale patches.
This layout ensures the panel remains both functional and customisable, allowing users to adapt their loadout to specific operational requirements.
Internal Organisation
The Utility Back Panel is designed to provide maximum flexibility for different mission roles.
The main compartment spans the full dimensions of the pouch and is fully Velcro-backed, making it compatible with the Deadly Customs TRAYS™ modular insert system. This allows the internal layout to be configured for different equipment sets depending on the user’s needs.
Integrated into the main compartment are four rows of mil-spec 25mm elastic retention, stitched in a staggered pattern. This design enables the elastic to securely retain equipment of varying sizes.
Users can configure the elastic to hold:
• Full-width items
• Half-width items
• Multiple smaller tools or accessories
This flexible retention system makes the panel suitable for carrying items such as:
• Medical equipment
• Communication devices
• Hydration bladders
• Multi-tools
• Batteries
• Field equipment
Secondary Admin Pocket
The outer section of the panel features a low-profile admin sleeve pocket.
This slim compartment is ideal for storing smaller items such as:
• Notebooks
• Pens
• Maps
• Documents
• Small tools
Its narrow design ensures the pocket remains low profile, preventing unnecessary bulk on the rear of the carrier.
Hydration Compatibility
A dedicated routing port is integrated into the upper section of the panel.
This allows a hydration tube to be routed externally while maintaining protection against dirt and debris entering the pouch.
This feature allows the panel to function effectively as a hydration carrier when required, further expanding its versatility.
Mounting System
The Utility Back Panel attaches via MOLLE webbing, making it compatible with a wide range of plate carriers.
Two MOLLE attachment columns are used to secure the panel to the carrier, leaving additional MOLLE space availablebetween the plate bag and the panel itself.
This allows users to mount additional slim accessories or routing equipment if required.
Drainage
A metal drainage grommet is installed in the base of the pouch.
This allows water or debris to exit the pouch, helping prevent moisture build-up during operations in wet environments.
Profile & Dimensions
The panel is designed to match the full width and height of a standard plate carrier rear plate bag.
Approximate dimensions:
Width: 6 MOLLE columns
Depth: approx 5cm profile
Height: full carrier plate bag height
This design ensures the panel remains compact and balanced, keeping weight close to the carrier while maximising storage capacity.
Intended Use
The Deadly Customs Utility Back Panel is designed as a general purpose rear storage solution suitable for a wide range of users.
Ideal for:
• Military personnel
• Law enforcement officers
• Airsoft players
• Prepared civilians
• Tactical training environments
Its modular design allows it to adapt easily to different operational requirements.
